30 Weeks

I'm officially 30 weeks....whew! I feel HUGE! I'm in the phase now where I am exhausted all the time and swollen a LOT! Yesterday I took a couple of afternoon naps which when added together equaled about 3 hours! Will is very ready for these babies to be born so the old me will be back into action, but these babies have to bake in the oven for a few more weeks before they are physically ready! My last appointment went great and the doctors have released me from doing 4 finger sticks per day; they want me to continue with my diet since I have had so much success with it thus far. The boys are doing great although they are making me rather uncomfortable. One has been in an odd position for the last week or so and was pushing on one of my stomach muscles with his head causing me a lot of pain, but he has either turned around or repositioned himself to help his mommy out! I will have another appointment next week and then another ultrasound the following week. It looks like my visits to the doctor's office will start to become a weekly routine following the ultrasound. We are very excited and anxious all at the same time and trying to enjoy these last few weeks as a family of 3.

From Drab to Fab: Leggings Refashion

I had bought these leggings a long time ago on sale for Mini, but haven't had anything to pair them with. This weekend Nana gave Mini a new shirt and I immediately thought of these leggings.
Before:
After:
I cut off the leggings to make them capris and added cotton interlock fabric to the bottom to make a ruffle. Below is Mini in her new outfit!
I will post a tutorial for the leggings refashion soon!

29 Weeks

Today I reached the 29 week mark. I've been able to maintain low to normal blood sugar levels for the last week with my new diet, so I'm hoping that at my doctor's appointment tomorrow, the doctor will allow me to do fewer finger sticks per day. I feel huge and am starting to feel more fatigue and irritability, so at this point I am rushing to try to get things done before I get to a point where I just can't do it anymore.

28 Weeks

This has been a week of ups and downs! Let's start with the good news:
The boys look great! According to the ultrasound, baby A weighs 2 lbs 14 oz, and baby B weighs 2 lbs 9 oz, so both are growing well and within close range to the other. The ultrasound pictures are getting harder to see because the boys are so close!

Now for the not-so-good news:
The boys have flipped...Baby B is now head down while Baby A is breech. They still have plenty of time to flip, so I'm hoping that Baby A will flip back around. Last Friday, I went for the 3-hour glucose test after failing the 1-hour test, and of course failed the 3-hour test as well. At this point, the doctor's are going to try control my gestational diabetes with diet. They have ordered me to do finger sticks to check my blood sugar 4 times a day and cut out simple sugars and limit my carb intake until I can see a nutritionist for further instructions. After 2 days of diet, my blood sugars have either been low or within the normal range, so I'm pleased with the results!

Sorry about the quality of the picture...Will wasn't at home to take the picture!

Family and Friends Weekend

This past weekend was a great, but busy weekend. On Friday, Will and I celebrated our 5th anniversary...I can't believe we have been married for 5 years! The time has flown by, but at the same time we dated for a long time prior to getting married so it seems if we have been together forever as well. It has been the best 5 years and we look forward to many years to come.

Saturday, Mini and I traveled to Hillsborough to see the Voelps. Mini loves "O!" No matter the length of time these two are apart, they seem to pick up exactly where they left off...it warms my heart!
The main reason for the visit was to meet M&M or O's little sister A. Baby A is so little and petite just like her mother! Her dad nicknamed her mother "Munchkin" a long time ago and now there is a "Mini Munchkin." Mini loved holding M&M!
Saturday night, we all traveled to celebrate Kim's dads 50th birthday. Mini had the best time sitting in the tractors digging in the garden and running around with the other children there!

27 Weeks

At this point, the belly growth is just comical! I'm struggling to find things in my closet that fit and depending on the morning want to toss half of my closet out...ha! Luckily, I know that this is just the hormones affecting my logic, so I've refrained; however I see a closet cleaning in the very near future. I've started swelling a little bit in my legs, feet, and ankles, but it's mostly in just the right leg, which is just weird! I go back to the doctor on Monday for my next ultrasound. I can't believe it has been 6 weeks since I've seen the boys; it seems like forever! I don't know how I did it with Mini...I think I had only 3 ultrasounds total compared to 4 I have already had this time around! Mini loves my belly and reminds me daily of how big it is by saying things like, "Mommy you got a big big belly button"...she is fascinated with belly buttons; however at this point in the pregnancy, I don't have a belly button, LOL!
